Label:
Foundation Unit Entertainment When it comes to explosive flows there are a few that stand out in the West Coast Region.
You have for example, Ice Cube, Dr.Dre, Snoop, and Xzibit. But this artist squeezes between Jay-Z and Method Man on a lyrical
level. Just when he begins to tell you the truth of life with a slice of lyrical reality, he pulls a card from his sleeve,
and gets you hyped up for a party that won't quit. When you say the name Gambizi, youre speaking of an intellectual M.C enlightening
you with potent lyrics of venom, never over doing it and always rocking a show. Always
sticking to the street, Gambizi is able to touch on topics that individuals either face or have always wondered about. Despite
the fact that the West Coast has been slept on for a very long time, Gambizi has paved a lyrical war path, by embracing the
Hip-Hop scene with one mission: BE HEARD. Gambizi started writing lyrics in the 5th grade, memorizing all the songs of
known artists and adding his own twist. It was in 1992, as a sophomore at George
Washington High School in San Francisco, that he became more serious with his lyrical rhyming. He and some high school friends,
Dayvon and Forest Roberts Tight Verse Slim formed a group called, The Foundation. At that time, Gambizi realized that rhyming,
metaphors and telling stories had transformed from a hobby into a passion. In 1996 the group decided to part there own ways.
Tight Verse felt things were moving to slow, but Dayvon stuck with Gambizi becoming a mentor and critique for every rhyme
he spit out. Meanwhile, Tightverse put out his own CD titled: Liquid
Reign, Gambizi was left energy, willingness and tablets full of flows and never- ending metaphors. The transition
from duo to solo artist was a rough transition. Not only did he have to build
personal confidence, he also had to be able to move his audience creatively. Thus,
many years of writing stories, free styling, building a production team, becoming more creative and manifesting his craft
had begun. He soon received a call from a childhood friend Mark Davita known
as Spaztik M.C who heard the young artist and wanted him on his debut single titled: Rhyme Pays. After rejuvenating himself and growing as an artist, Gambizi thought it was time to test
the water as a soloist he released his EP Flamin which pushed 7,000 plus units underground, in a tough bay area
market. The CD grabbed the attention of both young and old populations in the San Francisco area. Inquiring minds wanted to know: Who is Gambizi? Following Flamin, Gambizi released his singles:
Les Miserables, and Carlitos Way. This single captured
the interest of local DJs with its up-tempo beats and tantalizing lyrics. Just this Summer 2003 Gambizi released yet
another single: Hardware which is shaking up the streets as well. His hard work is beginning to pay off and the labels
will need a hardworker like this. As a sophomore in the underground Hip-Hop scene and with an arsenal of flows and styles,
Gambizi is ready to explode with his 1st full album. His unique talent is bound to send the Hip-Hop into the world
of the cardslanga. Gambizi plans on hitting you over the head with his much,
anticipated album: Internationally Known. So be on the look out for this hot new artist from the Bay,
a guaranteed delight. Do not sleep or under estimate this one; he holds it down
as one of the West Coast's top guns. * You can check Gambizi on the web at: http://gambittakashowstoppa.tripod.com c&p 2004 |
